Spermicide
Spermicides kill sperm, preventing the fertilization of an egg. You can buy spermicides without a prescription in cream, jelly, foam, or suppository form. Alone, spermicides are only 79% effective. When used with condoms, the effectiveness increrases to 99%. It is necessary to insert the spermicide ½ hour or less before intercourse, and it must be reapplied with each additional act of intercourse. Spermicides are convenient, portable, and relatively inexpensive to use.
